Every beauty trend has a myth or nasty rumor following it around and eyelash extensions are no exception. Unfortunately, there’s quite a few myths about eyelash extensions floating around the web, from the belief that your natural lashes will fall out only to never grow back again to it being a painful, painstaking long process.
As your trusted brow/eyelash studio, we want to point out the myths and clear up the confusion – here’s three common eyelash extension myths debunked.
MYTH: Your Eyelashes Will Fall Out
We hate to break it to you, but your natural eyelashes fall out anyway. You might not notice it because lash hairs are fine and small, but whether you want to believe it or not, our natural eyelashes fall out every four to six weeks, just like the hair on our head.
The reason people blame extensions for natural lash loss is because they’re more aware of the shedding when a long, thick, synthetic strand is glued to their eyelash – this process is natural. Stop blaming the extensions.
MYTH: Eyelash Extensions are Painful
For some insane reason, someone has been running around telling everyone that eyelash extensions are painful. This is definitely false. Nothing about the eyelash extension process hurts. In fact, most of our clients claim that the experience is relaxing.
MYTH: Volume Lashed are Heavier Than Classic Lashes
Volume lash fans have the same weight as classic lash fans. For volume lashes, Eye Design uses 0.05 and 0.07 lashes. Generally, lash artists use 0.20 or 0.25 for classic lashes. Volume lashes appear lighter, fluffier, and fuller because three thin lash extensions are attached to one natural lash.
MYTH: The Process is Long
While it can take forever, if your technician is a trained professional, the entire process should take two hours or less to complete.
